The operating systems supported by REX Identity are:
- Windows Server 2003
- Windows XP Professional
- Windows XP Home Edition
- Windows XP Media Center Edition
- Windows XP Tablet PC Edition
- Windows 2000 Server (Service Pack 2 or later recommended)
- Windows 2000 Professional (Service Pack 2 or later recommended)
The minimum hardware requirements are:
- 200 Mhz or higher Pentium-class Processor
- 64 MB of RAM
- 15 MB of free hard disk space

- Microsoft Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer with Fingerprint Reader
- Microsoft Optical Desktop with Fingerprint Reader (Only Windows XP)

You also have to check the supported operating systems and the computer requirements for the fingerprint reader that you are intending to use. In order to do this, check the manufacturer's website or the fingerprint reader documentation.
In order to register your users' fingerprints on the machine running REX Identity or make local user identification, a supported fingerprint reader must be installed in the computer running REX Identity.
